From MS-DOS to Generative AI: A New Era of Work
Remember when computers ran on MS-DOS and you needed to type commands for everything? I do. That’s how I fell in love with computers.
I was thinking today that soon, we'll talk about our current work life in the same way – before the rise of generative AI.
(For those that don’t know what MS-DOS is. It was a tedious, blinking cursor, before the colorful world of Windows appeared. Everything needed commands in order to work).
That leap is happening again, but this time, it’s at our workplaces with generative AI.
Picture This:
In a few (months?) years we’ll say to each other:
"Remember when we had to review code manually?"
"Can you believe we once drafted all our reports by hand?"
“This reminds me of the good old days of actual user research, and actual product fails as we had SUCH higher risk throughout product development”
In the near future, these phrases will be our nostalgic throwbacks.
Generative AI is the New Game-Changer
Just as MS-DOS gave way to more intuitive operating systems, we are on the brink of a work revolution. Generative AI can create content based on what it has been trained on, transforming our everyday tasks. It’s like having a digital genius by your side, anticipating your needs.
No More Manual Madness
Say goodbye to spending hours formatting documents or getting lost in spreadsheets. Generative AI will take those tasks off your plate, turning hours of work into mere minutes.
A World Where You're the Maestro
Imagine this: instead of sifting through customer feedback for hours, your AI assistant summarizes key insights and drafts a response strategy for your review. You are now the conductor of a digital orchestra, setting the tempo and watching as every section synchronizes perfectly under your direction.
Not a Replacement, a Revolution
Generative AI doesn’t boot us out of our jobs; it makes our jobs more human. It takes care of the routine so that we can focus on creativity, strategy, and connection.
