I came across this PM vs Eng comparison of the tasks each role entails and realized how realistic the PM one is. I have subconsciously implemented some strategies over the years in order not to get spread too thin with new work that's coming and with switching tasks at all times.
1/ Point people to your roadmap that has info on the mission / strategy and also clear ownership so that everyone is aware of the milestones and owners for each step. This one is really important especially for a vision of 2 years+
2/ Only attend necessary meetings and say no to meeting requests that could be resolved over pings / emails.
3/ Communicate risks often/early to prevent surprises - data, staffing, external factors, competition, resources, HW considerations
4/ Say no to working on new areas that aren't directly adding impact to your overall roadmaps, community or company goals.

So true! Spot on tips.
Hi Marily, great comparison! I can so relate because my husband is a software engineer and I'm a product marketer (in health)... haha
